Sirius Canada Finally Getting Stern

Posted under Sirius Satellite News on Wednesday 1 February 2006

Sirius Canada is finally getting Howard Stern. He will debut Monday on the “Howard One” channel.

There was some concern that Stern wouldn’t be allowed to broadcast on Sirius satellite radio because the CBSC(Canadian Broadcast Standards Council) found that his program was too foul.

It’s believed that many Canadians actually purchased US based satellite radio receivers to listen to the broadcast of Howard Stern, which bipasses the CBSC’s initial ruling anyway.

However, this will be good for Sirius as i’m sure there were many Canadians who either already had Sirius and just couldn’t listen to Howard Stern or there were some people holding out for Stern to be broadcast on Sirius radio in Canada.

My Sirius radio units started having problems over 2 months ago. I called Sirius to tell them that the unit had a problem, and they said that I must take it to Best Buy. So, I went to Best Buy who told me what I already knew, which was that the Sirius unit had a problem. SO, I called Sirius back again, and they told me that they must speak to the Best Buy person. So, I drove to Best Buy and called Sirius for a 3rd time. After the Best Buy tech talked to them, they agreed to send me another unit. This was over 1 month ago. After a couple of more phone calls to Sirius, I finally had someone tell me that the unti they were supposed to be sending me was on backorder and they did not know when they would be able to send me a new unit. I aksed them if they would give me a credit for the last month that I have been waiting for them to send me a new unit, but they would not even credit me for the month of January, even though they knew in December that my unit did not work and that they could not replace it anytime soon. I am beyond disgusted with how I have been treated, talked to and taken advantage of by Sirius radio. I would NOT RECOMMEND Sirius radio to anyone.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I’ve, so far, not had one problem with them.
